Having a sweet emancipation day in Rotterdam

For Keti Koti Festival I captured people and moments during the yearly celebration of Keti Koti. On this day, July 1st, people from the Surinam community (amongst Caribbean and Cabo Verde communities as well) celebrate the abolishment of slavery in Surinam between the years of 1863 and 1873. Both young and old come together to converse, dance, feast, drink, and above all, celebrate with each other.
